Dorothea Lange
Dorothea Lange (May 26, 1895 - October 11, 1965) worked as an American documentary photographer and photojournalist in the times of the great depression, which is the subject that many of her photos heavily focus on. Early in her career, she worked out of various studios in New York, traveled the world, and set up a successful portrait studio. When the Great Depression came along, she focused her camera on the streets and captured it's consequences, especially unemployed and homeless people. She spent the next few years documenting poverty and exploitation of migrant laborers.
